NYU Public Health Alliance

Mission

To offer educational events, service opportunities, and professional networking opportunities to Wagner & Steinhardt students who are interested in public health. To provide an opportunity for students interested in public health to learn from each other and from practitioners in a wide variety of fields about current local and international public health issues facing our communities.

Goals for 2007-2008

1. Foster greater collaboration among Wagner and Steinhardt graduate and exceptional undergraduate communities sharing a common interest in public health and health policy.
2. Provide insight and outlook in dialogue focusing on public health concerns facing NYC and World Internationally.
3. Create a sustainable fund raising event to expand successful NYUPHA program in to the community and expand our commitment to public health.
4. Increase the visibility and out reach of NYUPHA into New York City by collaborating with area academic and professional institutions.
5. Provide opportunity for students to participate in internship fairs and career panels to jump start their career planning.
6. Raise awareness of HIV/AIDS on and off campus and provide testing services via collaboration with student health center.
